RACE INSTRUCTIONS AND INFORMATION

VENUE HQ – Bluecoat Sports Centre, Christ’s Hospital School, Horsham, West Sussex, RH13 0YP. 

START -The run will start at 11 o’clock from the quadrangle in the school grounds. 
 

CAR PARKING – Available at the Sports Centre. Please follow  the signs and be guided by the marshals.

RACE DESK – will be manned at Bluecoat Sports Centre  - any problems and entries on the day (numbers permitting) – please report here.

TOILETS & CHANGING FACILITIES – are available at Bluecoat Sports Centre along with showers. There will be a small charge for these facilities. Neither the organisers nor the sports centre can accept any responsibility for possessions left in the changing rooms.

REFRESHMENTS – will be available before and after the event at the Gallery Café, upstairs at Bluecoat Sports.  There will be water available en route in Southwater County Park and at the finish.

NUMBERS – please ensure that your number is clearly visible and pinned on your front.

START & FINISH – The start and finish are at the quadrangle (see map) on the school grounds, a short walk from the car park and will be signed and marshalled. Runners should make their way to the start at 10.45am.

Your time will be recorded on crossing the line at the finish. Please continue through the finish funnel in order to have your number recorded and collect your medal.

THE COURSE – starts from the quadrangle, follows paths around the school grounds before joining the Downslink footpath to Southwater.  From there the route runs through a residential area for a short distance before crossing a road and entering the Country Park. It follows trails through the Park until it reaches the access point to the Downslink by which the return to Christ’s Hospital is routed, via a road crossing at Southwater, and finishes back at the quad in the school grounds. The course will be marshalled but please be courteous of other users of the footpaths and country park. Although resurfacing work is ongoing, If conditions are wet sections of the Downslink footpath can be muddy.

RESULTS – a full list of the results will be emailed to you free IF you have provided us with an email address!  If you would like them posted to you please leave a S.A.E and 50p at the enquiry desk.

PRIZES – Trophies will be award to first male and first female along with vouchers for a pair of Saucony trainers, and presented at the gallery café at 12.30. Second and third prizes will also be awarded.

MEDICAL PROVISION – will be provided at the start/finish.  Anyone feeling unwell during the race should report to a marshal and stay with them until help arrives.
