2010 10k Race Report
The eighth running of the Mel’s Milers @ CH 10k turned out to be a fast and closely contested affair, despite the mud on the route. The rain stayed off and conditions were perfect for a fast finish by last year’s winner, James Buchanan of Croydon, who beat his own course record of last year by winning in a time of 33:19. Not far behind in second place was Mark Ryall of Victoria Park in 33:53, and third place went to the ever-present and three times previous winner Pete O’Connell of Horsham Joggers.
Amongst a good turn-out of ladies for the race, the winner was Camilla Neale of Steyning AC in a time of 40:14, with Jo Hesketh, also of Steyning, taking second place in 41:10. Third place went to Caroline Wood of Arena80 with a time of 41:53.
Once again the quadrangle at Christ’s Hospital School provided a perfect setting for the race, with its unique architecture providing convenient start and finish arches !
